Plenty has been written on the benefits of SailkotePlus on the actual McLube webpage so I wont repeat that information here, rather I will discuss and show via a cool video the experience that I have had from applying SailkotePlus to white sails, spinnakers and canvas.
Firstly note our sandwich board at our factory
We have done this after a customer in thongs had his foot slip off the brake pedal on the way out, also if you have been into the Vacuwash factory you will note that the floor is as slippery as the sign says.
Think then that the same product in on the sails, they furl tighter, gybe quicker, and fly friction free.
When sailkoting spinnakers if you stand on a fold you will fall over, when putting sailkoted sails back on the rig they will slide all over the deck, or if you stand on them on the deck, you will fall overboard.
Two makes of new yachts deliver the yachts to customers with SailkotePlus already applied
Most of the Sydney 18 footers and MC 38 fleet have had their spinnakers sailkoted
The Superyacht, Ethereal, contracted Vacuwash Australia to Sailkote their 2500 SQM of working sails!
Major riggers in Sydney always tell their customers with in mast furling mainsails to have their sails sailkoted in order to help the furl of the sail
Respected sailmakers note that sailkoted sails show a lot less wear than non sailkoted sails.
Now have a look at this cool video I did of a 250 sqm (huge) kite that was sticking in its sock.
